Privacy Policy#

Last updated: July 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Beta Sigma Firm LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the operator of simuecon.com (“the Site”), collects, uses, and protects your personal information. The textbook content itself is authored by Ricardo A. Pasquini (see our Terms of Use); this policy concerns only how we handle your data as the Site’s operator.

1. Information We Collect#

Account information: When you register, we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. We do not store your password in plain text.

Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not collect or store your full credit card number; we retain a Stripe customer identifier and your payment/tier status (e.g., plan purchased, access expiration date) needed to manage your account.

Coupon and institutional access: If you register with a coupon code or an institutional email domain, we store that code or domain association to determine your access tier.

Professor access requests: If you submit a request for professor access outside our institutional domain list, we collect your name, email, institution, and message, and email these to our admin address to review the request.

Usage data: We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site (pages visited, general location, device/browser type). This is aggregate and not tied to your Site account.

Cookies: We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, and Google Analytics cookies for usage tracking. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling the session cookie will prevent you from staying logged in.

2. How We Use Your Information#

We use your information to:

  • Create and maintain your account

  • Process payments and grant the access tier you purchased

  • Send account-related email (verification, password reset, purchase confirmation)

  • Review professor access requests

  • Understand aggregate Site usage to improve the Site

  • Respond to support requests sent to our contact email

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Third-Party Service Providers#

We share information with the following service providers, only as needed to operate the Site:

  • Stripe — payment processing

  • Google Analytics — usage analytics

  • Our SMTP/email provider — transactional email (verification, password reset, purchase receipts)

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy terms.

4. International Users#

If you access the Site from the European Union, United Kingdom, Argentina, or elsewhere outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where Beta Sigma Firm LLC is organized. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

EU/UK users (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address in Section 7.

California users (CCPA/CPRA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of that information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information.

Argentina (Ley 25.326): If you are located in Argentina, you have the right to access, rectify, and request deletion (derecho de acceso, rectificación y supresión) of your personal data held by us, in accordance with Argentina’s Personal Data Protection Law.

5. Data Retention#

We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to comply with our legal and tax obligations (e.g., payment records). You may request deletion of your account by contacting us; some information may be retained where required by law (e.g., transaction records for accounting purposes).

6. Children’s Privacy#

The Site is intended for undergraduate students, professionals, and researchers, and is not directed at children under 13 (or 16, where applicable under GDPR). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
